my name's chris lawrence. i'm 24. i'm currently studying abachelor of commerce majoring in sports management and alsoplay professional rugby league for the wests tigers. i've got a businesscalled one wellbeing. i run school sport andnutrition programmes. also do training development ofprofessional athletes and run corporate health programmes.
so you're not necessarilydoing your course for the certificate,because you're running your own business. it seems like you're doing itmore for personal development. yeah, definitely. that was probablythe main reason i started the coursewas because i wanted to improve my knowledge andbe able to run my business properly and more successfully.
when i first leftschool, started doing a uni degree fora year with football and just found it hard. the first year wasn't too bad. but the harder it got andthe more time required there, just found it impossiblewith my training schedule. and still wanted to do ahigher form of education. i started with oua,and it's been good. and as i said about having totake a backwards step because
of footie and the company,just meant that through oua i had a few studyperiods off where i could look afterrestructuring that company and focus on my footie. and once i've got that down,i've just restarted it now and taken off where i left off. having started a company,i wanted a degree that was going tohelp with achieving better thingswithin that company.
and after i finishmy football career, i needed somethingmore flexible, which that offered-- being ableto receive everything online. and i choose wheni could do the work and not being told when ihad to do it was definitely a big reason why idecided to do it. yeah, definitely anenjoyable experience. having that flexibilitymakes it like that. reduces a lot of thepressure because there
are times when ican't do any study, whether it's with mybusiness or with my football. i don't have to focus solely onthat, so having the flexibility takes the pressure off.
